Introduction:
The course gives the learners a basic understanding of the environmental system and the potential for using optimization methods in environmental management. It provides basic knowledge of mathematical optimization theory, techniques, and algorithms. The learners will be able to understand the importance of optimization, apply the basic concepts of mathematics to form an optimization problem, analyze various optimization problems, and will be able to use tools of Microsoft Excel and Python to solve simple optimization problems. This will motivate the learners to use optimization approaches to address environmental issues that arise in the real world and will promote interest in optimization research in various fields.
