VNUHCM-US visiting YunTech in 2023

With the support from the National Science and Technology Council, the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City – University of Science (VNUHCM-US) jointly established the Taiwan – Vietnam Environmental Protection Overseas Center (TVEPOC), after a long period cooperation via online under the epidemic blockade, both parties finally met up in person at YunTech in February 2023.
The visiting team of VNUHCM-US was led by prof. Tran Van Man (Head, Office of Science &Technology) and prof. To Thi Hien (Head, Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Environment, YunTech teams were led by prof. Su Chwen-Tzeng (Vice-president of YunTech) and prof. Kuo Chao-Yin (Dean of Industry-Academia Cooperation) to hold the meeting and welcome dinner.
The 5-day visit itinerary includes visiting the laboratories of YunTech, companies, cultural exchange tours, etc., to promote in-depth cooperation between Taiwan-Vietnam. The YunTech team planned to visit Vietnam in May this year to promote more opportunities for substantive cooperation.

The itinerary of visits to two companies assists Taiwan and Vietnam in matchmaking and strives for opportunities for cross-border industry-academia cooperation. The first company to visit is Fulgent Sun Group in YunTech industrial area. The company specializes in OEM of sports shoe brands and has factories in Vietnam and also connected with the director of the Vietnam factory at the Taiwan head office to discuss the possibility of cooperation.

The second company to visit is Gao Ming Tie company (GMT) in Changhua, the company produces advanced instruments and has plans to cultivate international talents. Via these visits, the Vietnam side can better understand the development and advantages of Taiwanese manufacturers, and the center will also assist in winning cooperation opportunities for both parties.
